Greetings, hi, hello.

Welcome to my site. This is where I showcase my work and write about this thing called life. Enjoy!

Weekend coffee #39.

Weekend coffee #39.

I’m at a loss this week. As a woman in the U.S. the last few years have been really challenging and I vacillate between vitriol and utter disappointment. Mostly, I feel like I’m forgetting to breathe.

At the moment, I’m trying to look beyond all of this and focus (selfishly) on taking a vacation but that’s up in the air, too. Stay safe, Japan. Hoping Typhoon Trami passes quickly and with minimal damage. Fingers crossed.

Here’s what else I’m thinking about:

  • The boys’ club. The swamp is overflowing and people are drowning: “Watching it happen is a deadening reminder, for victims of sexual assault and harassment, that, in many cases, you were about as meaningful as a chess piece.”

  • Very interested in the ongoing examination of influencers across organizations and industries. Not sure if the influencer star is waning or just changing models, but definitely seeing a rise in “real people” a la the piece on Macy’s.

  • This episode of Call Your Girlfriend. I stan this show hard but this episode about labor is of particular interest. Recently spoke with a friend who is anti-gig economy, though I see why one might say this. What do you think?

  • Not even sure this is a lighter note but went to see Love, Gilda last weekend. It moves quickly and you’re left marveling at how much of her life got captured via tape and personal diaries. If you’re a fan of SNL or comedy, would highly recommend.

  • Ugh, I know I won’t actually listen to anything on this list but I should. Yesterday, my horoscope actually said, “Prioritizing is the only way to get through such an exciting, busy day.” Think I listened? Of course not.

Well, friends. Not sure where I’ll be next weekend but will try for an update regardless. Otherwise, stay safe and take care of yourselves.
