Greetings, hi, hello.

Welcome to my site. This is where I showcase my work and write about this thing called life. Enjoy!

Weekend coffee #43.

Weekend coffee #43.

Seeing that it’s almost November, I’m already starting to think about this year and what I got done. By my estimation, not enough. At the same time, more than most. Part of the problem is my perception and what I consider an accomplishment. In the midst of this introspection, I stumbled back across a quote from Tim Ferriss that says, “Focus on being productive instead of busy.” Bingo. Busy could very well be my middle name. Productivity is what’s lacking. So I’m going to take time these next few weeks to hone in what I want to achieve instead of just doing. Sort of a reverse resolution with New Year’s being my end date vs. the start. Anyway, here’s the other things I’m thinking about:

  • Running. I quit running back in 2017 while training for a half marathon. Long story short, my runs started triggering allergy attacks that would last for days. Went to a new allergist recently who prescribed a nasal spray to help combat this. Starting from scratch but happy to report I’m on my third run of the week.

  • This is Just My Face. The majority of the day I look mildly annoyed at best. Sure, the smile comes out periodically, but without reason for it, my face reverts to what’s comfortable. Everything is fine, I assure you. And while I try to avoid branding it “bitchface” being perfectly OK with how I express myself, I can certainly relate.

  • Goodbye, Dojo. Another New York City institution bites the dust. Dojo was all the rage when I was younger, feeding me and my close to broke, vegetarian friends. The carrot-ginger dressing remains the stuff of legends. Can only imagine what will inhabit that space next…

  • Speaking of food, I am here for this Roasted Eggplant Parm. Though not an Ina Garten superfan, there is a good chance that I would request eggplant parm (and a Caesar salad) as my last meal if it came down to it. And with a weekend storm in the forecast, this might happen sooner rather than later.

  • Tees 4 Togo - Very cool new project by Kathleen Hanna. 100 percent of proceeds from these sweatshop-free t-shirts support Peace Sisters. Each shirt is $40, which is what it costs to send a girl to school in Togo for one year. Plus the designs are super cool and feature people like Kristen Schaal, Joan Jett and more.

  • Assorted: watching Netflix's Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, going to a screening of A Star is Born, listening to Robyn’s Honey (released yesterday!), wearing some sort of Halloween costume and wishing it didn’t already feel like winter.

Until next weekend - oh, and have a spooky Halloween.
